Boxwood (Buxus sempervirens) is a slow-growing evergreen tree or shrub native to Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia. It is highly prized for its fine grain, creamy white to pale yellow color, and smooth texture. Due to its dense and hard nature, boxwood is commonly used in woodturning, carving, and inlays, as well as for making musical instruments such as woodwind instruments and harpsichords.
Very rarely found wood, usually in small quantities and sizes, boxwood is very expensive.
