Mulga (Acacia aneura) is an exceptionally hard and dense exotic wood native to the arid regions of Australia. It is characterized by a striking color contrast between its dark, reddish-brown heartwood and pale, yellowish sapwood, featuring a tight and distinct grain. Due to its extreme hardness (approximately 3,820 lbf on the Janka scale) and durability, it was traditionally used by Indigenous Australians to craft weapons and tools; today, it is highly prized for artistic woodturning and luxury smallware.
