Sipo

Sipo wood(Entandrophragma utile) originates from tropical Africa, particularly from countries such as Cameroon, Congo, and Gabon. This hardwood is characterized by its reddish-brown to pinkish-brown hue, often featuring interlocked grain patterns and a moderate to coarse texture. Sipo wood is prized for its durability, stability, and ease of working, making it a popular choice for furniture, cabinetry, flooring, decorative veneers, boatbuilding, carvings, turned objects.

Sometimes called Sipo Mahogany, sipo belongs to the broader Meliaceae (mahogany) family, which gives rise to reasonable comparisons with true Mahogany wood.
